NEW IN! MAKEUP HAUL

Kristine + michael-3Hello,

I decided recently that I’d buy some new makeup as I was running out . However, most of the items here are new products, I bought them based on reviews and my personal discretion. I love makeup shopping any kind of shopping to be honest ,   I find my self spending quite some time on the makeup aisle testing and considering brands. I decided to share this mini haul with you. It consists of 17 products and I’ve listed them according to Skin, Eyes and Lips.

SKIN

MAYBELLINE BABY SKIN PRIMER: This is a silicon based primer, I like it because it truly minimizes the appearance of pores and makes makeup application easier. However this item is really small, for those who wear makeup daily you mind need to stock up. Although you only need a little amount daily. Also, as a primer it works, not all day but it keeps my makeup in place for at least 2hours.DSC_0201

L.A GIRL PRO PREP PRIMER: This is very similar to the baby skin, but I find that my face gets oily quicker with this. It works ok, it’s silicon based too and it reduces the appearance of fine lines. DSC_0199

LANCOME TEINT IDOLE 24H FOUNDATION: I really like this product, it dries matte and has good coverage. I got the shade 10 and it’s great on my skin. I would recommend this foundation to anyone, its light and build-able. Though pricy- £30, It’s a good buy.DSC_0143

MAC MINERALIZE SKIN FINISH POWDER: I bought this powder simply because I find that it looks nice in cool weather, it makes you look like you have a glow. I used to be a MAC MSF loyalist till I started using Milani. I still love my Milani but variety is great. I wear the shade dark. DSC_0181DSC_0182

SLEEK FACE CONTOUR KIT: This was the first ever contour kit I bought, I really liked it but it broke. Then finding a replacement in Lagos was either scarce or too pricy. Even though the photo seems otherwise I find that the highlight is more silver than Gold. It gives an iridescent glow under light. I also use it for my inner tear duct. DSC_0271DSC_0274

REAL TECHNIQUES BEAUTY BLENDER: I sincerely don’t know why I bought this, I rarely do under eye highlight and baking process, but I heard great things about this. so whenever I decide to start highlighting and setting I would have what to use. DSC_0134

 EYES

BLACK UP EYESHADOW 5 COLOUR SET (PAL04): I got this from the Black up event I attended HERE, this and all other Black|up products in this post are from the goodie bag we received. Out of everything gifted, this and the makeup bag are my most used. You see that copper color, it’s the BOMB.COM. I absolutely love it. I used it in my Get ready with m-chit chat video HERE. The cobalt blue is equally gorgeous. All the colors on the palette are very pigmented, which is great. DSC_0156

SLEEK ALL NIGHT LONG 429 PALETTE: This palette is a good buy, it contains my frequently worn colors, very pigmented and lasts the whole day. It’s a bit similar to  the au naturelle palette.DSC_0126

RIMMEL SCANDAL EYES GEL LINER: This is a basic gel eyeliner, It’s quite dark and very easy to apply. One thing I like about this is that it doesn’t dry out fast unnecessarily, so it lasts long.DSC_0172

MAYBELLINE COLOSSAL MASCARA: I buy this all the time. I have two holy-grail mascaras which is this and my Zaron lengthening mascara. I particularly like this because it gives both volume and length. DSC_0169

BLACK UP GREEN EYESHADOW POT (15): I haven’t used this product but the shade is very similar to the makeup in this tutorial HERE . It’s like an emerald shade, though it comes off more aqua here.DSC_0267

LIPS

SLEEK PAPAYA PUNCH LIPSTICK: This is probably my third tube, I really like this shade. It’s my go to orange lipstick, looks absolutely great with a plum lipliner. Also great on dark skin. DSC_0254DSC_0251

KIKO PURPLE LIPSTICK: This was gifted to me at my cousin’s wedding HERE, we received it as part of our bridal train goodie bag. I used it once and it’s quite nice. Not a dupe for my favorite purple lipstick i.e. MAC HEROINE, but its a pretty purple.DSC_0191

L.A GIRL MATTE LIP GLOSS: I bought these in the shade “rebel and backstage” though they appear similar here, they are very different. See swatch below. Backstage is darker and is way nicer to me. I got the rebel off my Jumia voucher and the backstage at Paks cosmetics. DSC_0193DSC_0277.JPG

BLACK UP LIP PENCIL: This pencil works as a crayon. It’s semi matte, Quite pigmented and you can tell its good quality. It comes with a huge sharpener  as well. DSC_0259

BLACK UP LIP LACQUER: This is basically a lip gloss,  very thick and absolutely moisturizing. DSC_0268

CARMEX LIP BALM: Carmex is cheap and effective, I started getting chapped and dark lips and this came to my rescue. I use it daily before applying lipstick and at night before bed. DSC_0038.JPG

And that’s all! Do let me know which of these products you’ve used or would be buying soon. Also feel free to drop a comment below on any questions you may have.

Hope you’re doing great?

xoxo

Tosin.

  1. Yaaaaay! I just ordered the real techniques miracle sponge myself from Amazon. Waiting for my delivery. I think I should get the maybelline primer as well from Walmart. I also want the sleek contour kit but don’t know where to get that…. any idea?

  2. Hello Tosin,

I love these products. The lancome foundation is my favorite, it is worth every penny. Your review of the baby skin is spot on, it’s on of my primers ( makeup junkie…lol). I enjoy reading your blog and watching your videos.

  4. Hi Tosin, please can you do a review of the Lancome foundation? Also, what primer do you use? I have a very oil face and I currently use a NYC one but it isn’t effective at all.
