MANAGING INSECURUTIES

Hello,
So I really wanted to type this post but it’s much convenient to film this kind of discussions, I get to express myself better and I think I’m more relatable.( Apologies to everyone who messaged me about the network situation in Nigeria so they can’t watch videos as easily. I would make it up to you.) This video is about physical insecurities and how to handle them. I also discussed my own experience with insecurities and how I managed them.

Have a great week ahead.

PHOTO BLOG: JAPANESE NIGHT OUT!

I love good food, hence fine dining is one of the ways to my heart…… I went to this Japanese restaurant called Sapporo and it was just lovely, even though I’m not a big fan of “sushi” there were substitutes and I indulged! I didn’t get a proper pic of my outfit, (but If you follow me on Instagram there’s a selfie there). However after Brazilian food I can proudly say that I love Japanese food.  I rate this restaurant 9/10! The Chefs were entertaining with their culinary skills/tricks, the food was great, lovely decor and the price was right! If you’re ever in my city, please do visit!

6 ITEMS I CURRENTLY LOVE!

Hello people,
These are six items I’ve been loving this past month, and I would certainly be restocking them, if I ever run out!

1. M.A.C MINERALISE SKIN FINISH POWDER: Guys! I’ve been dulling! This powder is the truth! I was a bit hesitant to buy it because I assumed it would have a “bronzed finish” and I’d be shining, but this powder is a full face powder, it covers right, sets your foundation perfectly and makes you glow. I wear it everyday and I love it. (I’m in the shade Dark deep and it totally makes me look brighter)DSC_0018DSC_0024 Read More

I VENT: my Nigerian High Commission Experience in the UK!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Hello,

Early last month I travelled to London to renew my Nigerian Passport for the umpteenth time(I don’t understand why we constantly have to renew an “E-passport” in hardcopy). Although I initially planned to go to Nigeria for it, but I figured I would not be visiting home soon, and it was only sensible to visit the Nigeria high commission office(NHC) in the UK. (I have had this post in mind for a while, but lack of time to type this narrative, deterred the upload)

A month before, I went on the official website to book an appointment date as I had to do biometrics. The first charge was in dollars(I wonder why), I paid $65 for the passport renewal, after which I was automatically given an appointment date which was the next day(I did not get to choose). I felt it was an automated response, So I called their office to ask for a reschedule.

I cant’t even begin to explain how lackadaisical and rude the operator responded, but still I laid my request. The operator further replied “Uhmm miss, maybe you should visit the website” , I was quite perplexed  but I calmed my nerves and said ” well I just did, that’s how I realised the error and also got your phone number”. He said ok and referred me another website to input my details. ( I was wondering why they didn’t just put all the info on one website) . However, I finally was able to book a preferred date and a time slot between 1 to 100 for 10am-5:30pm.

As a punctual person I picked slot 3 meaning I would be attended to before 11am and there would be order in the process. The webpage also prompted me to print out the confirmatory mail I was sent entailing my payment receipt and appointment time, I did. The adjoining documents required me to bring “My old passport, payment receipt, and a £20 postal order for “administrative charges”(they supposedly would recieve the hardcopy passport from Abuja, Nigeria). I made arrangements for all.

THE APPOINTMENT DAY:

So remember I mentioned that the appointment was for 10am, but as an over-sabi I got to the NHC at central London an hour before (thanks to my dad constantly telling me to leave the house). To my greatest Read More

BRAVE: A SHORT FILM

Hello all,

I’m one who greatly believes in talent and would endorse anything in accordance to my values. I also spend a good amount of watching and reading things with  “inspirational content”. However this is a short film produced by friend, Lola of Lowladee.com she’s a movie producer and an amazing writer. BRAVE is inspired (but not based) by a true story on page 88 of T.D Jakes ‘The Lady, Her Lover & Her Lord’.

I watched it and its truly inspiring. In 30minutes it sums up the totality of love, commitment and what love should be in marriage. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

MY JOLLOF RICE RECIPE!

Hello all,

Jollof rice is one of my favourite meals of all time, and took me a while to nail a recipe that tasted as though it was the typical “party rice”. There are some tricks to ensure your jollof rice tastes great and I tried to show it all in this tutorial below. However I would list some pointers to help achieve maximum taste!

“I understand when it comes to cooking, people have their different methods/techniques, but this is what works for me and I hope you enjoy it”.

-Use fresh peppers

-use bleached palm oil preferably to cook stew.

-Incorporate chicken stock to the recipe.

-Season! season !season!!! (USE THYME!, chicken cubes, and bay leaf if you have)

-Use a wooden spoon to stir (that’s how my mama taught me)

-Ensure you monitor cooking closely. water dries up in minutes!

-Let it burn slightly. the burnt smell adds some nostalgic flavour.
