WEDDING PLANNING SO FAR + MY ‘SURPRISE” BRIDAL SHOWER! LOTS OF PHOTOS
*Dusts cobweb off the blog for the umpteenth time! LOL* You just have to forgive me again.
If you recently just found my blog, welcome! my name is Tosin read my about me HERE ^.^ though needs an update, but if you’re an old reader or a Youtuber subscriber, I say HELLLO with a warm hug!
So if you follow me on snapchat you’d know I’m planning my Nigerian wedding party presently which comes up in a week! I have been working with my planner who is also a reader of this blog ** shout out to you Ope** for a while to ensure the day goes well.
I had my civil wedding approximately 6months ago (June) and I’m presently in Nigeria for the remaining festivities.
In Nigeria the common wedding process is as thus,
Introduction ceremony- Done
Civil wedding – Done
traditional wedding – Coming right up
White wedding- Coming right up
Some people decide to crash all the above events into 2/3 days but we chose to space it out due to our living arrangement and work conditions.
I had my introduction ceremony 25th June 2017 and my Registry held 28th June 2017 (Watch all about my Nigerian registry wedding experience HERE).
See Introduction photos HERE
So far I’ve tried do to as much DIY as possible e.g. Making my own bouquet, bridal hangers, cards and also delegate responsibilities to friends and the planner to reduce the mental load.
I’m excited about the wedding and can’t wait to danceeeeee……. see our wedding website HERE!
This weekend my friends threw me a Royal ascot themed bridal shower yesterday and it was fantastic! It was meant to be a complete surprise but my friends were acting rather strange all day, and my instincts were kicking in……
I was told by my buddy Tolu Falode to dress up for an etiquette class somewhere on Ozumba Mbadiwe road. She kept insisting I looked nice and honestly I was getting a bit suspicious, but I followed through. It was an evening event so I opted for an Ankara midi dress, red lipstick, and had my hair in a bun. My husband was with me so we decided he’d drop off and take an uber home, We got past Lekki toll gate and I was told the venue was Radisson Blu hotel. I was like oh fancy…..
We got to the hotel, parked then Oba (Husband) decides he’d walk me up…….
I bump into a friend of mine at the lobby Yinka and I got even more suspicious! But she quickly threw off my suspicion saying her family lodged there for the weekend and she’d like us to meet her husband before I went to the event lodge. I was like sure, I got to the suite and of course there was no husband! it was my dearest friends and a decorated space for the shower! I was so floored I ran out of the room.
I went through different emotions in seconds lol
Scroll for tons of photos with explanatory captions lol
I was then ushered into a separate room within the suite, for a change of clothes, midi dress, fascinator, shoes and a hand fan!
FOOD, desserts, drinks were served, we gisted some more, then group photos and presentation of gifts! I was given a hamper that contained a huge throwpillow with my face & title, a custom key holder with our last name, a plush robe that had my new last name behind and initials in front, and other goodiesssss!
It was so intimate yet much fun! words cannot describe, I appreciate all my friends and a big thank you to all our well wishers! God bless you abundantly!
Now off to rest and gear up for our party!
Hope you enjoyed this post…
